Twitter launches a self-service advertising platform

Now small businesses can easily buy and place ads on Twitter. The micro-blogging site has launched a self-service advertising platform that will enable advertisers to easily manage their marketing campaigns and budgets. The new service will be available only to advertisers who accept or use American Express cards, but will be rolled out to other cardholders in the coming months.

Like Google’s advertising platform, Twitter’s ad service will allow advertisers to specify how much they are willing to spend, pick the cities or regions where they want their ads to appear and write their own commercial messages, which will be limited to Twitter’s 140-character limit per tweet. Twitter will charge, only for ads that users respond to –by retweeting, following the company and  by clicking the tweet links.

For each of the first 10,000 qualified businesses in the U.S. that sign up at http://ads.twitter.com/amex, the American Express Co. will buy $100 in Twitter ads. The ads, called “promoted products,” will begin appearing within in users’ Twitter stream by late March.

“The response to the ads so far has been mostly positive. I have every expectation that we will be able to scale this very rapidly,” said Twitter CEO Dick Costolo Costolo.

Founded in 2007, Twitter has more than 100 million active users and a valuation topping $8 billion. But, the company  like others in the social media space, is not aiming for the IPO yet.

“I don’t look at what other companies are doing. We don’t think in terms of building this company for a particular IPO date. We are trying to build this company for the long term,” Costolo added.

Last year, Twitter generated ad revenue of about $140 million, according to the research firm eMarketer Inc. This year, it is expected to sell $260 million in advertising, boosted by the new self-service platform.

I would like to share with you daily some knowledge on how to use things for betterment of community and of course for us also.

You might have heard story of a shoemaker who got shoes made by fairies. I believed the story too, so I used to keep my homework copies form school and always wanted fairies to finish them. Need not to tell you what I faced next day in school next day.

But it’s true the fairies are there, yes as the time has changed, they live now in your browser and you have to find him and make them work. They certainly love to work for you.

We would be discussing here how to use our browser; this you can say is First step towards online marketing.   I am using Chrome and I love it because it’s compatible with lot of attachments which we would be discussing here

If you don’t have use chrome I would love to request you to use it because it’s from Google family and Google has a big impact on search engines and good tool of marketing. You can download it from Google,  it’s free.

Come to tools, now you can see extensions, Click that, and now you can various applications that you can run from your browser.

Add this - A very good tool to help you to share your contents or blogs with lot of websites.  When you are on your blog press a right mouse key, and it will ask you, whom with you want to share. I had already given you a list of websites that pays for your blogs. Just with a simple click you can share your contents with a lot of websites of your choice.

Bitly – This application is very good to use, it shortens your sharing URL,   because a very lengthy URL does not look good to share. This you can use when sending your links in mails or other websites.

Stumble on – This is tool you can use to market your blogs with. I request you to open your account with the website, and I would be writing to you in my next blog, how you can get more viewers with that website.

Screenshot – A must blogging tool. If you don’t have this you are not a blogger. Strongly recommended to take this tool.

Translation Tool: This tool is also a must for you, because lot of web pages don’t have preloaded translation tool.

You can find a 100’s of tools there you can choose what suits you But I would be taking only what is essential for marketing.

 # Step 1 

Open an Internet browser window and navigate to "http://www.pixlr.com/editor/." This is a free online image editor. You can upload images from

 your computer, create new images or specify the URL of the image you wish to edit. Choose either to "Open an Image from your Computer" or "Open Image from URL." Browse to your desired image or type in the URL of the image's location.
 
# Step 2

Select the Clone Stamp Tool from the toolbox at the left of the screen. The tool looks like a small stamp with an arrow in it and is located beside a pencil. You can also press "S" to select the tool.

#Step 3

Select an area of the image that is comparable to any portion of the watermark you need to remove. For instance, if part of the watermark is on a dark green area of the image, choose a portion of the image that's roughly the same color as source point. The Clone Stamp Tool needs a comparable source point to replace the watermark with the colors from the source. Press "Ctrl" and left-click with your mouse when you have a source point.

#Step 4

Position the center of the Clone Stamp Tool over the area of the watermark you wish to replace with the source point. Left click once to begin painting over the area. You may need to repeat the process two or three times to completely remove each portion of the watermark.

#Step 5

Zoom in on your image using the Zoom Tool that looks like a magnifying glass. This will allow you to see if you've successfully removed all of the watermark. If you haven't, you can still use the Clone Stamp Tool while zoomed in to finish the removal process.
